Up home on the beach Jaawigu is the freshwater springs that bubble through the sand when the tide is out. When I was younger my mum would take me down to Jaawigu for bath when it was ngathaal (low tide). As a kid I would spend hours a day playing in the Jaawigu until dilbal (tide coming in). My hair would be so shiny, and skin was so soft from the from the buurraay bindhu (fresh water). The water was so pure it would cleanse my spirit.
